The Nor'wester

The Nor'Wester route takes you through the heart of North America and through the rugged Canadian Shield, past hundreds of lakes, rivers and streams.  The route encompasses highways 11 and 17 west of Thunder Bay, connected by the curvy two lane blacktop of highway 71 that joins Emo and Kenora.  You can join the Nor'Wester route from Thunder Bay, Fort Frances or Manitoba on Highway 1.  Explore 8,000 years of human history in the heart of the North American continent at Ka-Nah-Vhi-Wah-Nung, explore some of the Lake of the Woods' 14,000 islands aboard the MS Kenora, and savour Buster's BBQ in Vermillion Bay.  The Nor'Wester connects to the iconic Ride Lake Superior route.
